ResortsWhile our day tours visit as many resorts as possible from the Niseko area, our multi-day and powderhunter trips allow the opportunity to get to any resort on the island. These resorts are considerably less visited but still subject to the incredible storms that Hokkaido is quickly becoming known for. Below is a brief description of a few of our favorites. If you are interested in visiting any of these places, please let us know and we will help to make your dream trip a reality.
If you like long cruising runs on great soft snow, spend a few days here... but if you're looking forward the steep and deep keep your visit here to a couple of days before moving on.
To cap things off, if visibility permits we'll hike to the peak and enjoy one of the longest runs possible in Hokkaido. Recommended only for expert skiers and riders as there is almost no intermediate terrain here.
This unassuming area doesn't look like much as you approach it from the highway... but once you ride the gondola to the top you'll quickly realize why this resort definitely makes the great. You can ski almost 360 degrees of the mountain from the peak with the real gems being the glades on the front side and the open (but short) bowls on the backside. Unlike most Japanese resorts, Kamui is actively working to open new terrain and just last year cleared and signed and large new area that was once a local's only zone.
Hokkaido's highest peak and also located in the Daisetsuzan national park, Asahidake is a beautiful area to ski. Unfortunately the lift served run is fairly short but does provide access to excellent terrain. It is also possible to hike to the peak if your interested in exploring the backcountry.
In an attempt to revive the resort, new management has taken over and is slowly opening more skiable terrain. They also now build an excellent park and pipe. You can expect this resort to become increasingly popular in the next few years, so head out there before the secret gets out.
....and many more. If you are interested in any other resort not listed here, please inquire and we will give you the lowdown.
